AirPods are an excellent way to take and make phone calls while on-the-go. They’re comfortable, user-friendly, and help save time and energy. However, if your AirPods have stopped answering calls, there are a few steps you can try to get them working again.

First, ensure your iPhone and AirPods are paired correctly. This will enable them to work together seamlessly so you can answer and end phone calls as if they were on your smartphone. To pair your AirPods with an iPhone, open the charging case and tap Connect on the screen. Alternatively, if you own an AirPod Pro or recent models (like Apple Wireless Earbuds or the AirPods 3), these may also be compatible with Android devices.

Next, ensure your iPhone is not connected to any other Bluetooth devices. Doing so could be causing a minor connectivity issue between the iPhone and AirPods that’s preventing them from pairing properly. Disabling all other Bluetooth connections often resolves this problem.

Another option is to reset your AirPods. This will repair the connection between your phone and earbuds, making them work again. Resetting is a straightforward process that doesn’t require any technical expertise and takes only minutes to complete.

It’s also beneficial to give your AirPods a chance to reconnect with your phone by placing them back in their charging case for several minutes. Doing this will allow them to form a fresh connection with your phone, which often resolves minor audio issues from your AirPods on your phone.

Additionally, your AirPods can also be used to answer and end a call by pressing the force sensor located at one of the earbud edges. This works on both AirPods Pro and 3 (or any AirPod generation), so you can effortlessly handle incoming calls with ease.

If you have AirPods Pro or the most recent model of AirPods, Siri can even be used on your earbuds to answer calls and control other features on your iPhone. This makes answering and declining phone calls faster and simpler than ever before.

Finally, you can answer the phone by pressing either AirPod’s side button. This same method applies for answering and declining phone calls on other devices as well, including iPhone and Android handsets.

Once you press the side button on one of your earbuds, they will announce the caller ID of whoever is calling you. This can help prevent accidental calls from unknown numbers.

Double-tapping one of your earbuds will allow you to answer or reject a call and send it directly to voicemail. Furthermore, the Force Sensor on either earbud can be used for skipping forward and backward in music playback, audiobooks or podcasts, and more.
